Sorna Corporation was founded in October 1999. As radiology departments converted to digital imaging, digital portable media -- DICOM compliant CDs --was a logical replacement for X-ray film as a portable means to distribute medical images.

The FilmX™ DICOM CD burner, identified as the first networked system available in North America, made its debut in the January 2000 issue of Medical Imaging magazine. Just three months later, FilmX CD burners were being used in hospital radiology departments.

Starting with its first 100% DICOM conformant CD burner, Sorna set the gold standard of expectations. We continue to do so – delivering innovations that support our motto: Digital Imaging Simplified.

Today, our family of eXpedo™ publishing systems with intelligent workflow software provide the largest selection of CD/DVD recorders available from any single manufacturer, offering a choice to meet the budgets and production requirements of small to high volume users.

Our latest innovation: Hassle-free media import of external images into a PACS or digital archive using the Reviewer™. This multi-functional software also provides a variety of tools that empower an ordinary PC to become a powerful import/export medical image management machine.
